Veronica ♥

Yesterday was All Saints Day.. I wanted to blog about this yesterday.. But I had a serious gastric pain last night therefore I didn't make it.. 

All Saints Day is when the Roman Catholic Church commemorates all known and unknown saints. As a Catholic we are named after Catholic saints at Baptism.. Everyone must have one.. While mine is Veronica.. Many people asked me why I put Veronica as my name in Facebook.. Actually I'm not just putting as fun or it sounds special by two English name.. Meanwhile Veronica is my name also although it doesn't appear on my IC.. 

St. Veronica was a pious woman of Jerusalem who moved with pity as Jesus carried his cross to Golgotha, gave him her veil that he might wipe his forehead. Jesus accepted the offering and after using it handed it back to her, the image of his face miraculously impressed upon it.

Actually I got this name accidentally.. My parents named me Penny as Catholic Christian name.. But there's no saints named Penny.. An uncle suggested to my parents that why don't choose Veronica? At the end, they decided to name me Veronica.. When I was small I didn't like this name because it's so weird.. I was once thought to change another Christian name when my confirmation.. Ended up, I think actually Veronica this name is not bad also.. Somemore, this name was given by my parents.. I should appreciate it and I love my name.. So please call me Veronica Yee Penny.. =)
